Stories from a Nail Salon 002
If you’ve read my story about resilience you would understand that my highlight of the weekend was being dragged by my friend to the nail salon.
While I seemed cool, I was not at ease leaving my comfort zone to go at the time, and now, words cannot describe how exciting and impactful that outing was to me.
For a stay at home mom whose outings consist of school runs, park dates and grocery shopping, now that I think about it, I don’t know if to cry or laugh that I didn’t know how exciting it would be to visit a nail salon.
Have I been living in a cocoon?
It’s either I didn’t know what I was missing out or I’ve had no fear of missing out.
Whatever it is, I’m glad I went out.
I got to see how a family works together to run a business, watched some random and funny Ghanaian show, advised the nail technician to consider wearing face masks for his own safety. I also got a nice bag for my daughter at the flea market and nobody died while I was out getting my nails done.
Wait, did I mention that this was an underground market? I’ve lived in this city for years, heard about the market but never visited before.
