I believe this is a question we should see on bill boards everywhere, considering that Hypertension is the world’s leading killer.
If you could combine all the deaths from infectious diseases such as corona + Tuberculosis + HIV+ Malaria e.t.c it would still be less than the number of deaths caused by hypertension.
Taking death out of the equation, there is still the disability that arises from hypertension such as stroke cases and heart failure cases.
So again, I ask when last did you check your Blood pressure?
I believe a Blood Pressure device is one device that every household should have.
I mean you have all sorts of TV subscription packages. You buy all sorts of gadgets for personal and home use. One good device, with the appropriate sized cuffs can be used for the whole family and friends and maybe even neighbors. Everyone from kids to adults should be aware of their blood pressure status.
If you can’t afford one, make a clinic appointment and see the GP.
Or find a community center or pharmacy that offers free BP checks and get it over with.
If you have risk factors or you are 40 years and above with optimal blood pressure, then make that check at least once a year.
If you have risk factors and established Blood pressure then make that check three times a month.
If you are less than 40 years, with nor risk factors, then make that check every 2 years.
Let’s normalize regular Blood pressure checks!
