The One that Didn’t Get Away

3 Ways to Get On Top of Situations

Back in university, my end of semester pharmacology exams were oral exams. The topic list had over 50 topics which covered the whole material and each student had to pick a piece of paper which contained 3 different topics on it.

For this particular exam I purposely skipped reading the topic on HIV/AIDs. It was too cumbersome. My plan was to pray to God to help me. My prayer was simple and my request reasonable. I had read all the other topics, I wanted God to just help me avoid picking a paper that contained HIV/AIDs.

The Exam day came, and I picked the one topic I prayed to God to not let me pick. Even though I had a good knowledge of the other topics, my knowledge about this one topic was so bad that I failed the exam.

In retrospect, I’m glad I couldn’t get away from that topic as I would have met it in. Clinical practice and it would have been more shameful failing as a doctor in practice.

We Can’t Choose Our Trials

Life is like that! Too many times we think we can choose our trials and battles in life and so we avoid what we can avoid. We try to take a short cut or choose the easy way out of the situation.
