The Need for Introspection

Every one needs to introspect every now and then.

To introspect means to look inwards. Take your eyes off of the tangible, what others see, what is on your social media and focus on your inward thoughts and intents.

It is important to examine yourself every now and then and

Then ask yourself if those thoughts could be exposed to the world, would you still hold your head up high?

Looking Inwards would make you Sober

Beeing introspective comes with a certain sobriety, it takes a lot of power to look inwards and acknowledge that some areas of our character or personality are lacking and need more development.

There’s no such thing as one who is constantly excited or always happy. Everyone needs to be regulated. Some days will be a high, some days will be low and that’s life. The sun won’t be bright and bubbly every day. The moon isn’t always a full moon.

If you can not find a way to regulate your self every now and then, life will do it for you in a not so nice way.

That realization should not make you sad, it should make you sober. It should make you more lenient to others.

Looking Inwards would make you see others.

Human nature is vastly the same from country to country. Man is inherently selfish and seeks to be loved. When you can look inwards, you can better understand others around you.

One who can see their own faults will not be harsh on others who also have faults.

Kindnesss always stems from humility. A kind person knows that they are not above nor beyond help and so they can willingly extend that help to others.

Being Introspective helps you to develop common sense

One cannot think properly without being sober, and one can not have considerate thoughts without thinking of others first,

There’s a popular saying where I come from, “common sense is not common”

Actually no one is born with common sense, but it can be developed.

To introspect means to examine one’s own thoughts or feelings.

It means to think on why you acted.

To think on why you’re acting they way you are now.

To think about what you should do the next time.

Reflecting on the present or past will help you to take better and wiser decisions in the future.

You can Only Master Yourself through Introspection

What the Bible says? James 4:1–3

What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you? 2 You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel.

The reason you have strife with others is because you have strife in you. It all starts within.

A person who is unshaken and in control of himself can not be provoked by the words or actions of others. Their egos are not easily bruised.

A person is who is peaceful is first at peace within. You cannot radiate what you do not have.

So develop a habit of looking inwards, it will benefit your self development and maturity.

Journaling is an Nice Way to Introspect

Journaling documents the process, you can come back to it later on.

When journaling it’s just me and my book. I can’t lie to my book.

It’s a little bit like therapy, when I write down what I feel or how I felt, I am forced to come face to face with whatever feelings I may have being eager to forget or run away from.

Whatever is written is almost cemented for me. There is no denial of what happened, all I can do is accept it and work through it.

Here’s an odd truth, journaling makes me scared sometimes. But overcoming our fears is how we overcome in life.

You want to conquer the world? You must conquer yourself!
