Ladies and Gentlemen, The Bible, it’s the Bible!

I read Leviticus 21–22 the other day and it had me into all sorts of moods.

How did I end up in Leviticus?

Thank you very much for this question — Usually, I stay away from anything that will give me stress, those books like Leviticus, Numbers ,some of the Judges and you know who — the scary last one.

So, I was feeling not very spiritual the other day and decided to have my devotional reading. After reading it, I still had some energy and decided to read the study plan listed for that date.

That’s how I ended up in Leviticus.

Then my face and heart went through so many layers of emotions.

Here are a few things that really put me off;

  • The emphasis on the virginity of ladies. (What of the men?)
  • The bias associated with disability. (Seriously Moses? — someone’s got to take the blame)
  • The burning of harlots — okay!

Take a look at this verse: “And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself…
