Thanks for your question. I’ve been thinking about the best reply to give until something hectic happened this week and I totally needed to work out this answer in my life.
What has worked for me in helping me to refocus is having a bigger goal or a bigger picture than the disrupting event.
Let’s say a colleague gets to you at work, think about what your purpose is or what your tasks are for the day and focus on those.
I am religious, so when push comes to shove I shift my focus on Jesus, prayer, singing and meditation help me to get pass deliberate acts by others to sabotage my peace and quiet.
If the disruption persists despite all these, then please remove yourself from the environment.
It’s tough, but refocusing is a must, we must protect our mental health, we must guard our hearts.
