Quite odd, because authenticity is what has made some of the greatest artists and writers of all time. Our generation might do well to remember that some of these greats were not celebrated while alive.
So, we need to gravitate towards creating literary pieces that will outlast us. It may not be popular now, but if it’s authentic, it’ll stand.
There are indeed pretty good Nigerian writers, but not so many stories that may cause a revolution or an awakening among the Nigerian youths.
Maybe I just haven’t read them. Would you mind sharing any written books from this generation which are doing a bit to stimulate national consciousness?
Also maybe Nigerian writers can take a page from Nollywood, how can we make Nigerian literature to reach the grassroots?
