My Precious Ruby

I call her Ruby

She is a real rarity

Resplendent in red

As rich as raisins

As refreshing as rosemary

As colorful as coral reefs

My precious pearl in the plains

For whom the red roses bud

For whom June rolls the rainbow

For whom the rueful earth rejoiced

For whom the gray flora reawakened

Royalty and strength mirrored

Let me perk your ruddy cheeks

No regrets no returns

Over and over again I’ll choose you
