I haven’t been on that app in ages, it previously consumed too much of my data and time and money.

I had uninstalled on it from my phone for over six months now.

So anyway, I needed to do some business on there and had to reinstall the app again this week.

(Btw, I’m not looking down on it by saying the app, it’s just oh well, I haven’t Been there in ages 😁)

And I was struck by how new it seemed to me again.

So many places to look, so many videos to watch, everybody is selling something, intentionally or unintentionally, everyone has something to display.

Everyone is a content creator.

Wow! People are trying oo!

And honestly it really struck me like those outdoor trade fairs where everyone has a stall on display.

Everyone is looking for your attention.

Every country has one of those, with unique antiques or Christmas fairs for arts and crafts and candies.

Some vendors already have their established fan base and aren’t doing too much marketing.

Others keep bringing on new products. Others have really amazing reels and videos just to grab your attention, so they can sell their products.

There are new faces in different niches that may catch your interest.

Take Instagram as a Trade fair

I have decided to treat Instagram just like a trade fair, in order to maximize the use of my time and data.

It’s nice to go out everyone once in while, especially if you have something to sell or something you’d like to buy something.

You could also go to a trade fair in your spare time to support or interact with others.

If it becomes an everyday affair, then it might be boring, unless, you have something to sell everyday, then that’s your business and you need to plan your marketing strategy right behind closed doors.

If you’re an occasional seller like me or an occasional buyer, then you really don’t have any business visiting the fair everyday.

Otherwise, you’ll definitely be buying something you don’t need.

Spending your time and data just browsing is exactly buying.

Instagram like all other social media outlets are like this, so decide wisely how you spend your resources everyday.

Hopefully I’ll have a store to display my writings someday, aha that’s an idea 💡

I’ll think about it, you do too.

Btw, I’m interested in knowing if you’re a buyer or seller on Instagram.

Let’s talk in the comments section.

Cheers^^

P.S I had wanted to attach a picture from any of the trade fairs I’ve attended in the past but sadly couldn’t find any. Picture above is a picture from Brasov, Romania. I like the antique-y nature of the photo.
