How your tongue might be destroying relationships
My take on the age old quote, ‘He who repeats a matter separates very friends’
A relative did something to me the other day and it hurt me, after the hurt came the vexation and I stood up in all righteousness to retell the matter to someone else. Before I could leave my room, the above quote came to mind, abruptly halting my steps.
More often than not we reiterate other’s people’s wrongs to others to confirm our judgement or to validate our displeasure, to gauge if we are right to feel offended or not and also to have attempt to gain another’s viewpoint of the matter at hand.
For a long time, my take on this Bible verse has been that we ought to be careful when reporting another’s wrongdoings.
A relationship might go south because of an accusation, one that may have being innocently reported in a moment of confusion without all the facts.
What is an accusation?
In simple terms, according to Oxford Languages, “an accusation is a charge or claim that someone has done something illegal or wrong”
To the less experienced ,that accusation may stand for years until the person proves themselves.
