‘Bloody demon, what are you looking at?’
I was going to look at it in the eye and say, Bloody demon, what are you looking at?
I started walking for 30 minutes every evening since last year and it has stuck with me because of the liberation I feel and the creativity I get from walking.
I went for my usual walk one evening and right before the bend of my home where the street light isn’t well illuminated, I caught sight of a red flowing gown out the corner of my eyes. It looked like a figure in plain red clothes, although I thought about turning around, my feet continued walking forward.

As I got closer, the figure turned around and bright eyes peeked out of the red clothing. I heard ‘hello’ in a tiny soft voice. It was a girl in a completely red hijab. She had been chatting on her phone and I suppose she only turned around as she heard someone come close.
I nodded, walked past her and heaved a sigh of relief. My racing heart calmed down a little, because for a moment I thought I was about to get into a show down with a demon. Ah!
