Once upon a time there was a nation that were slaves of another nation. They had sought for refuge in this country during a time of immense difficulty.
Over time, they who were initially welcome became unwelcome, they had to work for their food and for their lives. Since they didn’t have the home advantage they had to follow the rules of the home owners.
With time, they became a people who didn’t not have much power over their choices in life. They couldn’t decide where to live, where to shop, go to school, how to worship, and even their choice of giving birth to male or female children was left to their masters
This went on for over 400 years. Parents, their children and grandchildren raised as people with no power to decide. People who were surviving instead of thriving.
And when people are surviving day to day, they have no way to plan or strategize for the future, their dreams and visions die because all they want to do is live to see the next day.
But one day, fortune smiled on them.
